Rising Stars 2005 Winners

During the Rising Star 2005 competition I was very impressed with the top two winners, Christopher Martin and Noddy Virtue. Appealing to different audiences both gentlemen have been blessed with fabulous, powerful voices. Yesterday I had the pleasure of seeing both stars in life performance. They were awesome.
I swear, they are even better live and direct. These gentlemen radiate humility, a quality we don’t see too often these days in our entertainers. It’s very endearing. Not to mention when they sing, it gives a girl goose bumps.

Follow up:

Christopher Martin, 18 years is from Back Pasture, St Catherine. Many Jamaicans had no clue such a place existed but Christopher has certainly put his community on the map. Although very young, Christopher obliviously has a deep passion for music and has embraced the music world. His performance yesterday lacked the shyness expresses during the Rising Star competition. He produces the most wonderful sounds so effortlessly it is absolutely beautiful. I pray that he continues to mature in the business that he so clearly loves but hope that he takes his education to the highest level in the process maintaining his air of humility and respectfulness.

Noddy Virtue is a farmer from Comma Pen, St. Elizabeth. He is definitely a ladies man and a true performer. He has a sense of dress and is not afraid to express his individuality. Yesterday his performance was simple great. He ended with what has become his signature song ‘Rebel in me’ by Jimmy Cliff which left the audience wanting more.

One of the prizes for wining the Rising Star competition was a recording contract so I know we will be hearing more of Christopher. With his voice I’m sure Noddy has also gotten several offers. I will definitely be getting their music as soon as they are released.

I also look forward to seeing Christopher as a role model to our young people. He already has their attention and with that a great opportunity to reach them through his music.

Sister Mary Margaret

SISTER MARGARET MARY, WHO WORKS FOR A LOCAL HOME HEALTH AGENCY WAS OUT MAKING HER ROUNDS WHEN SHE RAN OUT OF GAS.

AS LUCK WOULD HAVE IT A GAS STATION WAS JUST A BLOCK AWAY.

SHE WALKED TO THE STATION TO BORROW A CAN OF GAS TO START & THEN DRIVE TO THE STATION FOR A FILL UP.

THE ATTENDANT REGRETFULLY TOLD HER THE ONLY GAS CAN HE OWNED HAD BEEN LOANED OUT BUT IF SHE WOULD WAIT, IT WAS SURE TO BE BACK SHORTLY.

SINCE THE NUN ! WAS ON THE WAY TO SEE A PATIENT SHE DECIDED NOT TO WAIT & SHE WALKED BACK TO THE CAR. AFTER LOOKING FOR SOMETHING TO FILL WITH GAS, SHE SPOTTED A BEDPAN SHE WAS TAKING TO THE PATIENT.

ALWAYS RESOURCEFUL, SHE CARRIED IT TO THE STATION & FILLED IT WITH GASOLINE, & CARRIED IT TO HER CAR.

AS SHE WAS POURING THE GAS INTO THE TANK, TWO MEN WERE WATCHING FROM ACROSS THE STREET. ONE OF THEM TURNED TO THE OTHER & SAID, "IF IT STARTS, I'M TURNING CATHOLIC".
